the face is a young native american boy I drew many years ago and have used in the past as stickers and wheatpastes, it actually was the first portrait I did in spray. the drawing was done during my kids stay in the hospital, being my son is part black foot, it had personal meaning beyond an affinty for native culture and people. the expression took on a channeling for my frustration with my lack of power in the situation and it's bleekness, yet hope evident in the slight curl of smirkyness on the edges of the mouth. that hope the determination of the human spirit to proliferate and thrive even in the most uphill beatdown positions.

in short, this piece is a bridging of past with present in many different ways to me. 8"x10"

Hot Cocoa

It's autumn, it's brisk, windy, chilly. It's dark and it's not even dinner time. Warmth and comfort, the heat of the steam, creamy hot cocoa going down to your stomache, spreading heat all around your chest to your finger tips. Giving you power restored, no longer so vulnerable to the rugged concrete, no longer a chattering statue, now fresh and agile. These paintings are biographical visual memories, a collection of textures and rhythm I feel of my past as I paint them. I sit at kitchen tables, I walk down dim lit streets.

new canvas. playing with the candy look morphed with more obvious and in the forefront lettering. title hints at the influence of others works on my own. much respect to the likes of chor boogie, mad society kings, and the zonen kindern. just a few of the artists that when i see their work i feel like i have to paint right away every time. not making copies just giving nods.
