My Goodness

The opening for "My Goodness" a solo show by me, LUV1, at 219 Gallery in Trenton, NJ has come and gone but the show will be up until Aug 3rd so there's still plenty of time to go check it out and enjoy the greenery next door at the Ghandi Garden.  The rained slowed nothing down on Friday besides me and my wife on Rt 1.  There was a great turnout and good amount of things sold.  Many thanks to everyone who came out, especially those from far away places like Brooklyn, Elizabeth and Philly.  A huge thank you to my S.A.G.E. Coalition family for making it all happen.  Enjoy the pictures!

Jersey Fresh Jam 2012

Had a good time, glad it didn't rain.  As with every year, it was soo damn hot! I think I got sun burnt on my eye lids lol! Happy to have gotten a chance to meet some new people and reconnect with everyone.  Shouts to 181 http://www.iam181.com from DC who was rocking to my right and PORE from DC and CXARAMA from Equador on my left.  Good people! Damn shame the music portion of the day was shut down by the TPD, was really looking forward to it.

Art All Night

I had a great time painting under the blacklights at Art All Night in Trenton at the Roebling Wire Factory.  I met so many people and really enjoyed getting to talk with so many different kinds of people and observe their responses to my work.  One of the highlights would be all the kids who would come in and ask questions very curious about how I got the paint to light up, I heard many as they walked away saw "this was my favorite" which is awesome to be that at such a large art event.  Honestly based on the pure innocense of their appreciation for art I probably repsect a child's taste more than an "expert's". 

Another highlight was when a woman was asking me which paintings in the room I did and I told her the face above.   She said she saw a flick of it on Instagram and that's what got her to come to event.  Apparently this did a bit of a viral run, because after that I heard several people mention, oh I saw this one on Instagram. 


Than there's the old guy.  I was so excited to see him under the blacklight, but he did not look as good as in regular light.  Dissapointing, but it's always a gamble, you don't really know how it'll look until you get under the blacklight, unless you paint it there, and than you're not sure how it'll translate back to daylight. 

The whole event was great.  Thanks to Leon Rainbow for organizing.

Art All Night

creating paintings for Leon Rainbow's Blacklight Lounge at Art All Night. I'll be showing with RAIN, KASSO, LANK, and Isais Crow.  Just black and white flicks for now. You'll have to wait until Sat. to see it in color under the blacklights. I will also be painting live at the event, which draws over 4k people!

Trenton St. Patty's Parade

Many thanks to RAIN and the Art All Night people for bringing out the SAGEs to paint live on the AAN float.  It was sooo much fun! Check the video to catch what I could capture while painting on a moving vechicle (which is admitedly harder than I thought).  Something like 4k people flood Hamilton Ave and turn Trenton into a sea of green New Orleans for a few hours.

Got up with the Vicious Bros today at the good ol' Atelier.  I rocked a mascot and  I tried out some calligraf in pink along the bottom.  Painting on the door wasn't ideal, but I like how it turned out.  I really like RAIN's buff pattern and DEMER's effects as much as their burners.  I think it'd be interseting to see those two do a wall in abstraction like that.

Painted live last night at the Garden Variety Show in Trenton, NJ.  Shout out to KASSO for bringing the event to Trenton for the last year, peace to Self, Rain, Khal (who took the pictures below) from http://rockthedub.com/ , Lank, Collar, Peter, and everyone else in the building! Good times! Hip hop is alive and well in Tenton, New Jersey

cold rockin

Me and KASSO decided to take advantage of the bareable temps and rock a lil' sumtin for the community.  It's an abandoned lot where a building was demolished and now is like a giant toilet for the local animals, the last part we didn't know until we got on location.  Here's a peek at what lay every every few inches at various stages of detioration (your welcome for sharing)

I brought an empty squeeze bottle of dish detergent and mixed acrylic and water and had fun squirting colors and slanging paint combining with layers of tags and scrawl for the background.  In the end I like what came of it, tho as always feel it could've been batter.  Hard to concentrate standing in shit, among other complications of the day that thankfully turned out alright.

Shout out to all the dope Jerz eMCees in the building, too many to start naming.  Serious fire brought out last night tho, 'specially in those early round freestyle chyphers.  Shout out to all the people who kept standing in front of the flood light making it impossible to see.   Lastly shout to Kasso for hosting the show! Rest in Power Mr. Gil Scott Heron and thank you for all you did!
